My how time goes by.

Work went by so fast today. Its so crazy how you can work with some one for so long and not know a lot about them. I found out that my friend Jorge has a not so good marriage. His wife is really bad to him. She is so suspicious that he is cheating on her and she hurts him all the time. He said one day he had ketchup on his shirt and she was convinced it was lipstick. A couple of days ago he woke up to her kicking him for no reason. And these were the not so bad stories he told me. When I asked him why he was still with her he said that if he divorced her she would take the kids to Mexico and wouldn't let him see them again, so he puts up with it. It is so sad. I love Jorge! He is so happy and so much fun to be around. I was so shocked to find this out about him. I wish I could do something for him.
So my birthday is on Wednesday! I'm going to be 22 life goes by so fast. I have to work Wednesday so we are going to do something tomorrow. We still haven't decided what yet. Hopefully its something fun! We will let you know.

BYU Won!

Yesterday we went down to Provo for the football game. Johnny's dad was with us and it was great to have him. He had his birthday this month and we wanted to take him to lunch and go to a game with him. We went to this restaurant that we really like, Tucanos. It is a Brazilian grill. It is a really cool place. It is all you can eat with an amazing salad bar and then they grill all the meat and bring it around to the tables. Everything is super yummy. I really want to figure out how they make the lemonade, its creamy and very yummy!
The game was really good. They played hard and it paid off. I don't remember the score, sorry. I think I am understanding the rules a little better. I feel like I ask a hundred questions during the game. "What does that call mean?" "How many yards penalty is it for a false start?" "Why do I always have to sit behind the really tall people?" Things like that. By the end of the season I may know all that stuff, but for now I'm still learning. Here are some pictures of the game and a video of a touchdown. Sorry its really hard to see the guy catch the ball but I promise you he did!

Work

So all I've been doing the last two days is work. Yesterday was really busy, but tonight was super slow. We all just had to pretend we were working. It was so boring! Well now I'm home eating pizza and hanging out with Johnny and His dad, who is here so he can go to the BYU game with us tomorrow.
Johnny got an e-mail from Ross and they said that they still don't have his letters of recommendation. This makes me more than a little mad about this since his professor and boss said they had sent them. AARRGGGGHHH!!! Anyway I hope they get them soon I want to get an interview already!

Friends at work

So I got called to go into work early today so that is all I did today besides goofing off on the internet. I was in a working mood today. You know when you get to work and you just can't stop doing things. I did a lot of cleaning. Anyway I took some pictures of my amigos Arura and Jorge, and of my Bossy Ross.

Map of Dominica

Okay I have been searching for a good map of Dominica ever since I started researching it an I think this is the best one (that would let me copy and paste anyway). If you right click on the map you can see a bigger version of the map by selecting "open link in new window" . Ross is located just south of Portsmouth and North of the Indian River. Here is a picture of Dominica hope you all enjoy it.

Dates are the BEST!!!

So today was laundry day. We went to Target while the laundry was going and that was fun.
After that we came home and I did some cross stitch while I finished Last season of Greys Anatomy. Then all of a sudden Johnny was like "Okay, Lets go". We went to DI and got some reading material. We have decided that DI is the place to buy books they are like 50 cents a piece, its great! After that we went and watched the movie Up. I was really cute. We went to Olive Garden and had endless pasta. I am super stuffed now and am going to sit down and watch a movie that I got in the mail from Netflix, super duper Tuesday!!!

P.S. I feel bad because I have no pictures to post so I am going to try to put a video on here. Enjoy!

Called to serve

So I got called into work today. I really don't know what work would do without me. I am the only one that is willing to come in on their day off to cover for someone. Other than work my day was very boring. I worked on my cross stitch some more. That was about it for today. Johnny and I both have the day off tomorrow so we'll see if it is a little more exciting. I love all of you!

BYU Football

Sorry I didn't post yesterday. When we got home I was so tired. We left yesterday at about 12:30 to drive to Provo. The game didn't start until 5:00, but Johnny and Joey wanted to go to the tail gate party and we wanted to eat something before we went. We ate on campus and then headed over to the stadium. The tail gate party was really boring, but I won a ticket to next weeks game at a " spin the wheel" thing. We have season tickets so we are going to try and find some one to buy it from us.
So the game was pretty bad. BYU got crushed by Florida State. There were some really good plays from both teams, but you could tell from the very beginning that FSU was going to win. It was a good time, but I just don't get football at all, so kinda boring too.
Anyway today was very relaxing. I even fell asleep on the couch. It was one of those times when you wake up and you didn't think you had fallen asleep, so when you wake up your like "What just happened". Weird!

Tuna and Stitches

So I didn't have work again today. I tried to go to cover for someones shift at work because I need the hours, but apparently so does everyone else. I just ate tuna helper and did my cross stitch. I'm getting really far on it. I hope to finish it before the new year. I'll post pictures when I'm done.
I'm just sitting here waiting for Johnny to come home. I'm really excited because we have season tickets to BYU football and there is going to be a game tomorrow.I'm not a big fan of football or BYU sports in general, but I am a big fan of going out and doing something with Johnny on a Saturday night. So see you on the other side!

Helping others

So both Johnny and I had the day off. We just spent the day doing a little planning and cleaning.
I went to help with a wedding tonight. It was for a lady I am going to start visiting teaching now that she has married into the ward. I went and helped in the kitchen. It is interesting helping some one you don't know very well. It was fun to watch her and her new husband. The day of your wedding goes by so fast. To Melissa if she ever reads this, I hope you two will be happy and serve each other and those around you. Anyway here are a couple of pictures.

Getting an Interview

Today nothing really happened. I went to work but came home because I wasn't felling very well. Johnny was at work all day, so I just kinda lazed around the house and cleaned up a little bit.
It has been beautiful this week. We have been getting some rain and the temperature has dropped. I even put an extra blanket on our bed a couple nights ago. I'm getting really excited about fall. I love when the trees turn. When they do I'll have to post some pictures.

I wanted to let everybody know that Johnny is done applying to med school. We have just been waiting for his letters of recommendation to be sent and now they are in. So now all we have to do is wait. According to the research I've done about 60% of applicants get an interview. The average time it takes for Ross to interview you is two weeks, but it could take anywhere from ten days to two months. I hope that answers some questions that people had. We'll let you know more as it unfolds. Please remember that these are not absolute facts they are just what I have gleaned from the internet. I will keep the info coming.

To my Family, Thank you so much for responding to my nags. I will still nag at you if I haven't seen a post for awhile. I really want this to work because we want to know what is going on with all of you. Especailly if we do go to Dominica. It will be very hard to call you so we will have to rely on the internet to keep in touch. I really think blogging will be a good way to do it. It only takes a few minutes a day. I love you all, and miss you and think and pray for you.

Why is having good credit a bad thing?

So Johnny and I woke up this morning and went to do our laundry, my absolute favorite thing to do. It was nice to spend some time with him though. I thought I would put a picture of the laundry mat we go to so you can see it. Also a couple of us getting happy hour drinks at Sonic.
Okay now for the exciting part of our day! We bought a lap top! It is really nice and it was on sale so we saved a little on it to. Now for the credit story. We had the money to buy it but not the warranty we wanted, so we thought "get a line of credit." We figured we were going to need to have a credit card eventually anyway, so why not right? Well Johnny applied. We were denied. We applied jointly, denied. Finally we had to apply for a higher interest one, and it finally worked! We totally didn't understand why we were denied. Last year we took out a loan for the specific purpose to establish credit so when we needed a credit card or buy a car or a house we would have good credit! So I ask again why is it so bad to have good credit?

Okay so I was reading one of my friends blogs and she did this as her first post and I thought I would copy her cause it was so cute so here it goes, Johnny and my story. ( Sorry Lisa I couldn't resist! You copied me first, Right?)

We met in our church in October of 2006. When I met him I kind of thought he was a dork, and I wasn't interested anyway because I wanted to go on a mission for my church. So the weekend before Thanksgiving we both happened to be at a get together some friends were having. We probably hadn't spoken more than two sentences to each other ever before, but that night we were joined by our mutual need to go see the new James Bond movie. After the party he was kind enough to walk me up the one flight of stairs to my apartment, and ask me to go see the movie with him at my earliest convenience. Needless to say I called the next morning. We went to a Thanksgiving dinner that USU was having then headed off to the theater. Neither of us had looked up the time the movie was playing so we had an hour to kill. We got a shake and shared it and our likes and dislikes. We also had that conversation most couples have after three months of dating. We didn't want to play any dating games. If we liked each other we would let each other know. Thats exactly what happened. I think we probably knew we wanted to get married about two weeks after our first date. We were meant for each other and there was no reason in our minds to postpone the inevitable. We were engaged at Christmas and married on March 10, 2007.
We lived in Logan, Utah until he graduated from USU. Then we moved here to Salt Lake and are awaiting our next adventure, whatever it may be.

More Family Pics

I totally forgot to put a picture of Johnny. So here he is. Oh and I had to go all the way back to our wedding to find a picture of Johnny's family, and of course Joey is missing.

Family Pics

So here are some pictures I thought I should post.
One is me, and then a couple of my family, one of Saydee popping bubbles, and then one of Rebekah and Tanner. I couldn't find one of Johnny's whole family so I guess this has to do. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Johnny and I

For my first post I just wanted to tell a little about Johnny and myself. We are currently living in Salt Lake City, Utah. Johnny is working for the Primary Children's Hospital as a Lab Tech. I work in a restaurant called Au Naturale. We both enjoy our jobs.

We both have great families. Johnny has a smaller family with one brother (Joseph) little sister that was adopted (Rebekah), and a little foster brother (Tanner). He is the oldest in the family. His parents are John and Mary. I have a much bigger family. I'll start from the oldest and work my way down.(The names in parenthesis are their spouses and then any children.) John(Dawn, Caitlyn), Richard(Beth, Ahslynn, Warren), Rachel(Trent, Joseph, Rebekah, David, and a little girl on the way), Chris(Emily), Arlo Jeff(Heather, Felicity, Helen), then comes me, Vance(Emmett), and Chelsea. My parents are Doug and Kathy Davidson. Johnny and I don't have any real children, but our cat Saydee is our little baby.

Johnny has applied to med school this fall and are hoping he will be getting into Ross University School of Medicine for the Jan. 2010 semester. If he does we will be packing up and heading to a small Carribean island, Dominica.

I started this blog for two reasons, to let my family know what is going on in our very boring life without using all the minutes on their phones(sorry), and if we get into Ross to let future or potential students know our experience on the island.

Thats all I'm going to write for today. Hope all is well with the family and we love you all and miss you.
